The WeeFestival of Arts & Culture for Early Years

Festival Line-Up

May 9 to June 9, 2024
Ages: 0 to 6 years

The WeeFestival of Arts & Culture for Early Years returns for its 7th edition with live performances in Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area, and Ontario from May 9 to June 9!

Once again, Théâtre français de Toronto is proud to be part of the WeeFestival as an official partner of the festival's francophone line-up.

This spring, WeeFestival will present over fifty performances for toddlers, preschoolers and school-aged children, promising beautiful, stimulating and joyful theatrical experiences for the youngest members of our community (and their adult guests!)

The dynamic and diverse 2024 line-up promises unforgettable first-time theatre experiences, with performances dedicated to French-speaking audiences - whether in French or without spoken words.

May 9 to 12
6 months to 5 years
Rise, reach, desire and learn - taking risks to reach beyond and discover both thresholds and possibilities. A metaphor for growth - Up! is a captivating vocal and physical performance by artist Kristof Hiriart.

Bonne Nuit!
May 18
Ages 3 and up
It's bedtime, but sleep is the last thing on this restless man's mind. Besides, how can he sleep when the pillow and blankets have a mind of their own and his pyjamas want to dance? Artist Csaba Raduly delights all ages with his puppets.

May 19
Ages 4 and up
Plastic bags are unfortunately ubiquitous. But when Puzzle Théâtre's inventive artists tackle this polluting material, they bring it to life in ways you'd never imagine! A whole world of crumpled, stretchy and rather "hungry" creatures fill the stage and confront each other, taking the puppeteers with them.

Papier Poisson
May 21 and 22
8 to 24 months
A playful, interactive dance show where children are free to participate and explore, because that's what kids do best! Exploring the theme of water with boats, fish, crabs and sharks, the artists irresistibly invite children to participate by drawing, moving and making music.

mOts premiers
May 25 and 26
Ages 3 and up
Two dancers meet, each with their own language of movement and words. They struggle to communicate and cooperate until they discover a new common language through dance. A dynamic show combining hip-hop and contemporary dance.

June 1 and 2
Ages 2 and up
The inner world of a cuckoo clock is revealed along with the busy daily life of Coucou, the cuckoo clock bird. One day, a mischievous intruder gets into the clock mechanism and everything is turned upside down. Coucou pursues him and discovers a magical world beyond time!

June 1st and 2nd
Ages 2 and up
Walangaan recounts the cycle of water - the water that quenches our thirst, runs over our skin, splashes, cleans, sings, rocks and gushes. A Senegalese singer and percussionist travel upstream, revealing its sounds and playing with their voices and bodies, from drop to shower, from splash to cascade.

June 8 and 9
12 months and up
Composed of seven landscapes, through which children can move and interact freely, Solalie is both an installation and a concert offering a unique musical universe linked to nature: a landscape of rocks, ropes, fibers, wood, spheres, tubes and moss.
