Je suis William

May 6 to 9, 2026
Duration: 70 minutes
Ages: 10+

When Margaret Shakespeare, William’s sister, writes at night, she mends the injustices she sees. At just thirteen, she draws from human contradictions to craft stories of remarkable power. But in 1577 England, girls are meant for household chores. Worse still, those who can read and write are accused of witchcraft. When William discovers his sister’s talent, he is in awe. How can he share her words while keeping her safe? Thus begins a journey through a whimsical England, where brotherly love defies the rules, and the power of the pen just might overturn the established order.

A musical for the whole family, Je suis William holds up a mirror to our times, reminding us that, even today, being born a girl or a boy still shapes the path ahead.
