SYNOPSIS
BOTH SURPRISING AND MOVING, Number is both an event and an experience. On arrival, audience members are given an envelope containing simple and innocuous instructions. But they are quickly immersed in the heart of a show of their own making. Guided by invisible moderators, they discover a thrilling story – their own! Today, social media and technology too often separates us more than they bring us together, but this production reminds us of the exquisite singularity of human exchange and the importance that an ordinary encounter can have in our lives.
This Alpha Charlie Kilo (Québec City) production, under the artistic directorship of Danielle Le Saux-Farmer (Ottawa), proposes to build a microsociety that is authentic and frank, both out of love for the audience and as a response to the stifling nature of modern society. Because theatre also exists to build community – and here is the proof.
