Toronto, Ontario - Théâtre français de Toronto (TfT) is delighted to present its latest theatrical creation, Feu Monsieur Feydeau! a comedy written and directed by Sébastien Bertrand that pays tribute to Georges Feydeau, the undisputed master of vaudevilles. The play runs from October 24 to November 3, 2024 at the Berkeley Street Theatre.

Sébastien Bertrand, already recognized for his remarkable contributions to TfT with the webseries Les Liaisons dangereuses : Correspondances inédites (currently available on TFO's streaming platform) and for the hit play Les Filles du roi, directed by Karine Ricard and presented last fall, signs here his third artistic collaboration. Feu Monsieur Feydeau! draws on the author's talent and inventiveness, consolidating his fruitful relationship with TfT.

SYNOPSIS: It's 1921, and Georges Feydeau, suffering from delirium, is staying at the sanatorium Rueil-Malmaison, in a Paris suburb. This mysterious and singular place becomes the stage for a comedy as tragic as it is burlesque. Surrounded by eccentric characters, Feydeau finds himself unwittingly becoming the main character in a new original farce, where mistaken identities, misunderstandings and outlandish twists follow one another at a frenetic pace.

This play is a vibrant tribute to Feydeau's unique spirit, skilfully blending comedy and tragedy. Audiences will rediscover the very essence of vaudeville, with its unpredictable turns and relentless humour. Don't miss this whirlwind of non-stop laughter!
