Toronto, Ontario — Théâtre français de Toronto is proud to present ANGLE MORT, the dark-comedy solo show by acclaimed Franco-Canadian multidisciplinary artist Stéphanie Morin-Robert, running May 28–30, 2026 at Berkeley Street Theatre. The run kicks off in style with a benefit evening on Thursday, May 28, 2026, starting at 7:30 PM — a festive spring occasion to reconnect, celebrate yet another season together, and support our youth programs and productions, followed by a reception at Jamii Esplanade.

Diagnosed with a malignant retinal tumour at the age of two, Stéphanie Morin-Robert underwent the removal of her left eye and has lived with a prosthetic eye ever since. In a candid, energetic, and deeply funny autobiographical narrative, she recounts her childhood in Northern Ontario — the advantages and challenges of her condition, at home and at school — and how, in the middle of a gym class when her glass eye gets launched across the room by a dodgeball, she finally finds the courage to face her fear of being different.

Blending intimate storytelling, contemporary dance, live video projection, and puppetry, ANGLE MORT is far more than a personal testimony: it is a celebration of the body, of difference, and of the transformative power of humour. The show, performed over 1,300 times in English under the title BLINDSIDE, returns here to its mother tongue, as Morin-Robert joyfully reclaims her Francophone roots and identity.

“A crescendo of emotions. ” — Morgane LEMÉE, La liberté
“Angle Mort tackles serious subjects, but not without humour. Stéphanie Morin-Robert’s goal is precisely to bring lightness to her story.” — Mathilde GAUTIER, ICI Radio-Canada

All performances are surtitled in English. Toronto audiences will also have the opportunity to try augmented reality glasses for a more immersive surtitling experience, with the ability to switch between English and French — free of charge.
