2 Dora Mavor Moore Award Nominations!
TfT is proud to announce that La bulle has been nominated for two Dora Mavor Moore Awards in the Dance category. Created by David Danzon and Carolin Lindner and presented by Théâtre français de Toronto (TfT) and Jamii last summer (August 31-September 5, 2021) at the Berkeley Castle Courtyard, CORPUS' La bulle has been nominated for the Outstanding Production Award as well as the Outstanding Achievement in Design Award for its scenic environment.
ABOUT THE SHOW: La Bulle features a one-of-a-kind bubble tent (a character in its own right) and its sole inhabitant: Pierrot, the iconic dreamer. Confined together, they live in transparent symbiosis. In this theatrical setting, there is nowhere to hide, an absurd situation, fully exploited with humour by a lucid and lunar Pierrot.
Through mime, dance, text, even drawing, and without uttering a single word, he connects with his audience. Dressed in his classic black and white costume and make-up, he manages to create bonds with those willing to spare him a little time. Embracing solitude whole-heartedly, the romantic loner swims freely like a fish in water in the realm of dreams.
It was the first time that TfT had ever presented an outdoor show. Offered free of charge, the production garnered praises from the media and was a great success with the public. The performances were sold out and a waiting list had to be set up.
Our most heartfelt congratulations to the entire team at La bulle!
