“You’re invited !” Joël Beddows
The TfT celebrates the sparkling singularity of Toronto’s francophone authors
From October 26 to 28, 2017, Théâtre français de Toronto begins its 50th season with a splash: a celebration of French-language writings.
Come and discover the voices of Toronto authors, the famous and the lesser known, the explorers who take pleasure in redefining our collective existence. Orchestrated by Marie-Claire Marcotte and Maxime Robin, their writings cast an unexpected light on our city and serve as windows on an uncertain world. They remind us that in this magical place once called Takaronto, “where trees take root in water”, the poetry of our language with its many flavours and accents remains the unifying force at the heart of our metropolis. Through music, literature and theatre, local artists celebrate the local.
Come and discover an astonishing, cruel, mythical, paradoxical, human and funny Queen City. Come and celebrate 50 years of French theatre in an odd little pub – you’re not going to recognize the Berkeley Street Theatre!
This is a fun and festive event that TfT subscribers can enjoy for free and single-ticket holders can attend at 50% off the regular price.
With: Geneviève Cholette, Alex Côté, Marie-Hélène Fontaine, Djennie Laguerre, René Lemieux, Nathalie Nadon, Mélanie Paiement and Karine Ricard. With the participation of DJ UnPier.
Collected works written by (among others) : Marguerite Andersen, Véronique Auger-Drolet, Joël Beddows, Lina Blais, Hédi Bouraoui, Dino Gonçalves, Pierre Karch, Marianne Lambert, Glen Charles Landry, Didier Leclair, Marc Lemyre, Pierre Léon, Marie-Claire Marcotte, Marcelle McGibbon, Mireille Messier, Anne Nenarokoff Van Burek, Louise Nolan, Paul-François Sylvestre.
