DRAMA CLASSES FOR KIDS

PLAY, HAVE FUN IN FRENCH AND DISCOVER THE WORLD OF THEATRE! 

Since 2010, the TFT School has invited young people aged 4 to 18 to learn about theatre in French by exploring different disciplines of the performing arts to develop their creativity, love, and passion for theatre and  the French language. The TFT School is an inclusive and creative space for young Francophones in the Greater Toronto Area. It is a place of collaboration and exchange where young people can uncover their dramatic talents and explore how the theatre can effect change and encourage empathy.

THE ADVENTURERS (4 – 6)

COURS ENFANTS 2019
Description

Adventurers can expect to discover the magic of theatre by working with games that develop their ability to express themselves physically and emotionally. For example, playing as animals from different fables and fairy tales, dancing, imagining, and interpreting real-life emotions in a wide variety of situations. At the end of this course, participants will have the opportunity to present their explorations at the end-of-year show in June 2020.

THE EXPLORERS (7 – 9)

Bleu
Description

Explorers will discover different ways to tell a story in the theatre, across several disciplines such as puppetry, movement, and clowning. They will participate in more advanced improvisation games and improve their narrative and scene-building skills. At the end of this course, participants will have the opportunity to present their explorations at the end-of-year show in June 2020.

THE VOYAGERS (10-13)

Rouge
Description

Voyagers explore storytelling exercises, developing their ability to fully engage their voices and bodies in the development of their characters. In the spring, students work together to create their own original piece using the collective creation technique. At the end of this course, participants will have the opportunity to present their explorations at the end-of-year show in June 2020.

TfT’S YOUTH COMPANY

COURS ENFANTS3
Description

An enhanced program, designed for young actors who are ready for more advanced theatrical training and who want to create and play their own pieces. Over a period of eight months, students will form a coherent ensemble using theatre, movement, singing, and collective creation skills. This program ends with a presentation of the play at the Alliance Française Toronto’s Spadina Theatre
