My dear friends,
I think it is normal to call you my friends since we have now been “surtitling” together for the past four years. Your response has been overwhelming! Thank you, it proves our efforts are worthwhile, and it is a real pleasure to get to know a new group of people who are becoming friendly, familiar faces at our theatre.
You would think that after the whirlwind of our 40th anniversary season, we would like to slow down a bit for our 41st. Not at all! We are fuelled by the success of last year, and this season are pleased to present some lively and provocative pieces.
May we suggest three works for our 41st season:
Alfred de Musset’s On ne badine pas avec l’amour (There Is No Trifling with Love) a classic among classics. Whether your are romantic or not, the words written here are so lovely and uplifting, that even though the ending is sad, you will find yourself saying merci, merci and merci again.
It is with pride that I bring you Une maison face au nord (A North-Facing House). I will be playing in this new work, which is a co-production with two companies from Québec. A play with a certain je ne sais quoi, it will transport you to the Saguenay without you ever having to leave your seat.
And to end this season, we have the very popular Le Dîner de cons (The Dinner Game). Humans are very funny people. This play is all about people who live by making fun of their peers. But in the end..., well, venez voir! It is worth the trip. I do think that the author Francis Veber is the modern Molière.
Three plays to subscribe to. All with surtitles, so you can enjoy the work in its original language.
Subscribe soon!
Enjoy the season,

Guy
